Biography of John Lear
John Lear was a manager with Dupont for over 35 years, but his first love has always been art, particularly water colors. His artwork, which primarily features historic buildings and ocean scenes, has been influenced by his early years living in Philadelphia, and spending summers at the Jersey Shore. Recently he has focused a large amount of his work on local East Coast lighthouses, which combine the lure of water with unique architectural features.
John has participated in many art shows both in Delaware and Pennsylvania, and has received a number of awards. His paintings are included in local corporate collections, including the Hotel Dupont, Hercules Corporation, and NKS Distributors, as well as in many private collections.
